Windows Vista woes

My laptop is back. I got a new 160GB laptop SATA hdd so my laptop is up and running again.
Microsoft says it takes an hour or less to install Windows Vista. Bollocks. Bullshit.
It took me an hour to install Vista, another 4 hours to install all available updates, another hour to download and install Service Pack 1, then one or two hours to install all basic and necessary software: AVG anti-virus, K-Lite codec, MS Office, Nero 8, Real Player, Win Rar, Bittorrent, Daemon Tools and Printer drivers.
All in all it took me two days of intensive computing and many, many restarts to finally have a working laptop.
Still, it is much better than Linux (Ubuntu) which I felt was un-intuitive, troublesome and a pain in the arse to work with which I believe why I keep coming to Windows and its familiarity and its BSOD's and constant updating, etc.
Can't live with it, can't live without it.
